Dolly & Porter Dress-Up Showdown

Want to get your Halloween on early and with a country twist? Join our costume contest to celebrate the history of Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton! This event will take place as part of the First Thursday Downtown Stroll on October 2nd.

Contest Categories

1. Best Dolly Look-Alike

2. Best Porter Look-Alike

3. Best Duo (Dolly & Porter)

4. Kids Category (12 & under)

5. Audience Favorite: voted on by cash donations to be split with the winner

Schedule

• 5:30 PM – 6:15 PM: Registration at the Welcome Tent (South Side of Square at WP Downtown Booth)

• 6:30 PM: Gather at the Main Stage

• 7:00 PM: Judging at the Main Stage

• 7:30 PM: Winners announced and prizes awarded

Registration

• $5 to enter / 12 & under free!

• Participants fill out a short form with name, age, category, email address, etc.

• Registration at the West Plains Downtown information booth (south side of the square)

Judging Panel

• 3–5 local community members or business owners

• Criteria: Creativity, resemblance, effort, and crowd engagement

Prizes

• Trophy or ribbon for each category winner

• Social media spotlight for winners

• Winner of Audience Favorite splits the earnings from their bucket
